Viking Cruisers now form in many respects the backbone of the river boating fleet in the UK and further afield. A literal child of the famous 1960s-70s Seamaster marque, Viking has introduced countless people to the water and many owners have traded their way through the range from 20ft-32ft, providing a thriving secondhand market for this prolific brand.
In many respects choosing a pre-owned Viking is quite simple, because the format of many of the models has stayed quite similar, so to get a broad idea of the models available visit our new Viking Cruisers page here. Anything you buy will be very practical, with the more recent models introducing handy features like walk-through transoms and bathing platforms, plus a typically greater spec.
It's really quite hard to single out any model as being most popular as many have very specific purposes, from the trailable pocket cruiser Viking 20, through to 32 cc Highline centre cockpit narrowbeam model with cabins fore and aft, capable of roaming the entire British waterways network. However the Viking 24 should perhaps take line honours. It's a great boat whether starting for the first time with a view to a later trade up or wanting something with great space but economic mooring costs.
