The 2017 London Boat Show Broom 35 was the star of BBC1's A1: Britain's Longest Road Episode 10 yesterday

Ever wanted to know what it takes to get a boat into the London Boat Show? Then head over to BBC iPlayer, or switch on BBC2 at 0630 on Monday morning (22 May 2017) and watch Episode 10 of the BBC series A1: Britain's Longest Road.

The Tingdene Boat Sales Broom 35 arriving at the London Boat Show with Guy Girling on BBC1 A1 Britain's Longest Road programmeTelevision production company True North contacted Tingdene Boat Sales prior to Christmas to see if it would be possible to film the movement of a boat along the A1 to the London Boat Show. The timing was perfect to track the journey taken by our new Broom 35 Coupe, from Broom Boats in Brundall, down the A1, to London ExCeL. The filming included all of the critical elements in the operation, from craning onto the Interboat specialist low loader, through the journey and then right into the South Hall at ExCeL. Later in the programme you see the contrast between the stark exhibition space as it builds up, to the finished show with the Tingdene stand up and running with visitors.

The programme highlights how it takes more than two hours to ensure the Broom 35 is located with complete precision and absolutely level, to ensure everything is perfect for the show.

Tingdene Boat Sales' Guy Girling (pictured above), who is seen explaining every step of the operation on the film, stated: "It was great to be able to show just what is involved in the movement of our boats and the care we take not just to ensure they are sold correctly, but looked after in every aspect, from the moment they leave the factory in our care."

"The Broom 35 Coupe at the London Boat Show created great interest and we're pleased to say it has already been sold."

You can meet up with Guy and other members of the Tingdene Boat Sales team today at the Brundall Boat Show in Norfolk.

A1: Britain's Longest Road more information

Millions of motorists rely on the A1 for journeys up and down the country every day, but many are unaware of the vast scale of work needed to keep the road open and traffic flowing. A1: BRITAIN’S LONGEST ROAD meets the men and women who work round-the-clock on Britain’s longest and most iconic road ensuring the traffic keeps moving and the public are kept safe. Spanning across the 410-mile length of the A1 from London to Edinburgh, the series focuses on the work of the police, traffic officers and emergency response teams on both sides of the border as they deal with some of the thousands of incidents which affect the road every year. From farmers to truckers, horse trainers to camel handlers, the series also takes a ride alongside many of the colourful characters who spend their lives on the road, whether for work or play.

In each episode, a range of compelling stories unfold through the teams in CCTV traffic control rooms which watch over the road 24/7. From swans running wild on the carriageway to the collapse of live electricity cables forcing the closure of the road, the series captures the work of the teams tasked with tackling all kinds of emergencies and whose main mission is to get the traffic flowing again. A1: BRITAIN’S LONGEST ROAD begins on Monday 8th May 2017 at 11am, and runs for 3 consecutive weeks Mon-Fri, a total of 15 episodes at 45 minutes each.
